One month with aligners – feeling a good change already

After almost five weeks, I am now on my third set of aligners, and the change is real! I can already feel them working and notice the new position of my teeth when I bite down.

Over the next few weeks, I can feel the aligners moving my teeth more noticeably, so I hope to see a visible change by the second month!

  • How aligners feel after 2 weeks — switching to aligner #2

How aligners feel after 2 weeks — switching to aligner #2

After 14 days, aligner #1 felt loose and natural — a sign the teeth had moved into position.

The new aligner #2 immediately feels tighter, with some pressure on different teeth.

Honest take after 2 weeks of clear aligners: the pain is real but short (2 days), the rest is just habit.

Honestly? Feeling some real progress — my bite already feels different. Kinda surprised.

  • Another fasting meal – protein shake, chicken meatballs and mozarella

Another fasting meal – protein shake, chicken meatballs and mozarella

One meal, all you need: protein shake (with banana and milk) + chicken meatballs + mozzarella + bread + blueberry yogurt.

Basically, protein for muscle, collagen, calcium for bone mineralization, blueberries for gum health.

Soft enough for aligners, dense enough to last!

Oatmeal with milk (soaked in the fridge for a few hours to soften it) top with fresh blueberries.

Calcium for the bones, antioxidants for the gums, zero added sugar.

Protein cake is another solid option.

  • Why eggs and cheese are important for tooth bone mineralization with aligners

Why eggs and cheese are important for tooth bone mineralization with aligners

Because your jaw needs a lot of calcium to rebuild the bone around your shifting teeth.

Here’s the deal: while you wear aligners, your body breaks down old bone in front of the tooth and builds new bone behind it.

That new bone needs calcium + vitamin K2 + protein — and eggs + cheese deliver all three.

One omelet + 100g of cheese covers 60% of your daily calcium need. Add a glass of milk and you’re set.

  • 5th day of OMAD fasting – tired of potatoes 😂

5th day of OMAD fasting – tired of potatoes 😂

Today was a little hard, with some mild stomach pain — but not too bad.

What I ate today: chicken, potatoes (again), Greek yogurt, kefir, 100g of pumpkin pie, and some protein ice cream.

I think I need to cut back on the “sweets” starting tomorrow and focus more on protein.

I’ve learned that potatoes got more potassium than bananas!

  • Water with salt during fasting? A great ideea!

Water with salt during fasting? A great ideea!

After 20+ hours without food, you lose electrolytes through saliva and urine.

A pinch of Himalayan salt in water restores sodium, kills headaches, and keeps energy stable.

During fasting your insulin drops. Low insulin tells your kidneys to dump sodium.

That’s why people get headaches, fatigue, and brain fog — it’s not lack of food or coffeine, it’s lack of sodium!

Also, wearing clear aligners 23 hours a day means more saliva production (your mouth thinks there’s something to chew).

More saliva = more sodium loss through swallowing and rinsing.

  • 4th day of fasting (OMAD) and aligners

4th day of fasting (OMAD) and aligners

Feels like a cheat day — a can of Pepsi Max, 3 sausages, 3 eggs, 1 Greek yogurt, and some protein ice cream (no sugar).

I read today that OMAD (One Meal A Day) may boost synaptic myelination and cognitive performance through autophagy.

Maybe my brain is doing some rebuilding too — while my teeth are busy mineralizing in their new position.

No tooth pain on day 4, btw! 🎉

  • Cold coffee with dental aligners — my daily escape!

Cold coffee with dental aligners — my daily escape!

It’s hard not drinking Pepsi Max during the day — I’ve read a lot that the acid from soda drinks can damage your teeth during aligner treatment. Not in one day, but after 2-3 months you’ll start seeing stains on your teeth.

So, cold coffee (not cold brew — that one is too strong because of the tonic added) is my escape besides water!

  • Finally eating meat again – after 72 hours with aligners!

Finally eating meat again – after 72 hours with aligners!

Broke the fast with meat (chicken softened with potatoes, soft cheese and kefir)!

In the first 48 hours you can’t eat meat or any harder food because your teeth are in the process of moving — even if it’s by less than 1mm.

The aligner logic is simple: in the first 2 days it forces your teeth into their new position, and after that the bone solidifies over the next days, until you change to the new aligners.

In my case, I have 1 new aligner every 14 days.

So: 2 days of “forced” new position, then 12 days of mineralization (creating new bone).

    P.S. I made a great smoothie with 2 bananas + milk + a scoop of protein powder.

Why bananas? Magnesium + potassium = activate vitamin D and lock calcium into your new bone.
